Tire

24x36. This painting belongs to a series of work created by Evans that was inspired by his travels in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Spending a month in the amazing terrain among its people, Evans returned with inspiration to create over 30 paintings. This piece represents the ugliness that Evans viewed while in Africa. In the American culture, disposal and recycling of trash is taken for granted. In Africa, it is not uncommon to see mounds of trash on the sides of roads, etc. There is an initiative to teach the people of Africa to recycle and reuse materials.
